You will be writing a personal narrative.  This is a story about an event that happened in your life.  You can use this brainstorming sheet to help you gather the details.

Setting: Exposition (Where and when did the story take place?

Characters: Exposition (Who was involved in this story?)

Outline of Plot: Rising Action (List the events as they occurred.)

Climax (Look over your events. What is the most important scene? List it here)

FallingAction/Resolution How does your story end? Do you learn a lesson or come to some conclusions? Explain below.

Sensory Details – When you write, using sensory details can make your writing more descriptive. Think of the five senses. Can you write down details under each sense to help you describe the events and setting of your story? Fill in as much as you can. Depending on the story you tell, some will fit while others may not.
