The purpose of this project is for you to design a cover for your portfolio (finished folder) which shows who and what you are. To begin this project, brainstorm a list of things that are important to you. Think about the following: activities you enjoy, hobbies, sports, friends, family, pets, favorite places, foods, or things to do. List anything that has a part in your life. Then decide on the items and information that are really a part of you. Next, begin looking through magazines, newspapers, catalogues, computer graphics, or you may draw the items yourself, for pictures of all the items you wish to include that are important in your life. Also, consider finding words from newspapers or magazines to include on this cover. Maybe the name of a favorite team, or brand of clothing, or words that represent some of your beliefs such as peace, friends, etc. Your goal is to create a visual representation of who and what you are.

You will be given paper to use for this cover. Remember to place in large print the title of this cover "Inside (your name)". When your cover is finished, it will be laminated and you will tape it securely to the front of your portfolio. Also, this cover will be graded and count as a DOL writing grade. The cover will be graded on the following:

How well it shows who and what you are

How completely and thoroughly you did this assignment/ student effort

How creative you make your cover

How neatly you did your work
