Plot Line Book Project Assignment While Reading

As you read your book you are to do the following:

bulletIn your notebook set up your first page as follows:

            Title:

            Author:

            Setting:

            Characters:

bulletFill in this information as you find it.  For the characters, write the character's name and a physical description.  As you read, add in information about the character's personality.  You can list this information.

For each chapter do the following:

bulletWrite Chapter One and under line it.
bulletUnder the heading, list the important events that occur in this chapter.  (You do not have to write in full sentences, just list the events.
bulletTry to list 3-4 events for each chapter.  (use your judgment)

This assignment may seem tedious; however, it will be extremely important when you do your plot line.  It will make the project easier if your have done this step.  This work will be checked every Friday during independent reading and will count as a grade.

Each week you need to read as many chapters as necessary in order to finish your book in four weeks.  (See your contract, for specific page numbers)  If you are a fast reader and finish the book in less time, you still need to keep up with listing the plot events for each chapter.  Then during the remaining weeks, you can work on your project during independent reading or read a new novel for pleasure--no additional assignments will be necessary.
